RECOGNIZE YOUR MIND, a reflection

Were one’s intellectuality to achieve the highest grade on schooling, nonetheless one’s mind might turn one out to be such an ignoramus. Thus, recognize yet practice your mind! (Bulan Sorbadjati & Barata Sena)

KENALI BATINMU

KEMARAU AND PENGHUJAN

And thus one was related to one’s own sibling as are the two seasons of the equator sphere: kemarau and penghujan. When kemarau arrived, within its dry and hot days were engraved flaring anger, sharp acrimony, and tears. When penghujan took its turn, its wet and rainy hours offered contentment, longings, and encounter. Yet along the changes of seasons, kemarau plots never a treachery against penghujan.

Ketika kemarau terukir kemarahan, kesengitan, air mata. Ketika penghujan terpetik kegembiraan, kerinduan, pertemuan.
Kemarau tak pernah berkhianat kepada penghujan. (Bulan Sorbadjati & Barata Sena)

CO-CREATORS, a reflection

Besides, those that have met “the path” looked the termites, ants, and aphids as co-creators of wooden works. Even before an artist’d creative intelligence was set in aorse, these tiny living-beings have been at their labour upon or within the tree, diligently. (Bulan Sorbadjati & Barata Sena)

CO-CREATOR
(Bulan Sorbadjati & Barata Sena)

WALLET. a reflection

Have you ever looked deeply into the inside of your pocket and, with attention, observed the contents of your wallet? When one is truly at a mindful state, one is certainly capable to see that one keeps up with oneself not only cards, money, and coins, but also greed, anger, and attachment.

DOMPET
(Bulan Sorbadjati & Barata Sena)

DAYLIGHT AND NIGHT, a reflection

Yet one’s sibling was to oneself but as is daylight to night.
Upon daylight were cast sundry desires, whereas within nightfall lay suppertime in togetherness. Be the sky overcast as gloomy as it would, daylight never seeks vengeance against the darkness of night. (Bulan Sorbadjati & Barata Sena)

SIANG DAN MALAM
Persaudaraan yang indah serupa siang dengan malam.
Di dalam siang tercetak perbedaan keinginan. Di dalam malam terpacak santap bersama. Seberapa pun gelapnya awan mendung, siang tak mau menaruh dendam kepada malam. (Bulan Sorbadjati & Barata Sena)

DEPOSITORY, a reflection

When one wilfully hurt any of human kind or other living-beings, one was actually adding on more suffering, and all at once putting it out at interest, into one’s future-life depository which oneself shall eventually receive. (Bulan Sorbadjati & Barata Sena)

TABUNGAN
(Bulan Sorbadjati & Barata Sena)

Right Views, a reflection

(1)
The eyes that have encountered “the path” can no longer be deceived by thoughts into which ethic and aesthetic judgements or pragmatic conventions are rammed. (Bulan Sorbadjati & Barata Sena)

(2)
To the eyes that sees with the right views, a tree’s impairment, which it has carried since its very first day on, are neither perceived as matter of normal and no-normal nor of good and no-good. Instead, to those that have achieved the right views, everything that is given birth by mother nature makes none but natural matters. Thus, on one’s flowing of creativity, not a single question is raised whatsoever defect might flaw the wood, except how one integrates one’s intelligence into a co-creation with the tree trunks. (Bulan Sorbadjati & Barata Sena)

Mata Benar
(1)

(Bulan Sorbadjati & Barata Sena)

Anger, a reflection

To those that have begun to “walk the path”, whenever anger arises, its flaring up is a mean of one’s coming back to the conscious breathing. “Breathing in, I know that I am angry. Breathing out, I know that I must take care of my anger.” (Bulan Sorbadjati & Barata Sena)

KEMARAHAN
(Bulan Sorbadjati & Barata Sena)
